A hurricane strikes, and your school and its water purification plant has been destroyed. You cannot get any clean drinking water. The school is gone, but pupils have survived. You need to help establish a source of clean drinking water, and you must do this by building your own filtration systems.
Your pupils will be introduced to the supreme importance of water supply in a disaster scenario. This challenge will see your pupils use scientific equipment to purify “dirty water” in a race against time.
This practical, hands-on classroom lesson incorporates teamwork with chemistry, allowing for your pupils to get a glimpse into situations that the British Army train for.
