PARENTS' QUESTIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE

Did you know that the Army offers Work Experience for young people who are considering the Army, but want to try it out before they join? This is a five day residential course which gives them a taster of Army teamwork, leadership, confidence and resilience.

If you think your son or daughter would be interested, you'll need to ask their school to arrange for a placement.

TALK TO AN EXPERT 

If your son or daughter is seriously considering joining, we would recommend a visit to your local Army Careers Centre. Here you'll be able to chat to serving soldiers and experts about what the Army can offer.

These are relaxed environments and you won't be put under any pressure to continue with an application.

ARMY CAREER CENTRES

Junior Entry

If your son or daughter is 16 or 17, they will start their Army journey as a Junior Soldier at the Army Foundation College Harrogate. Here they will be taught military skills, fitness and education, ready for a great start in whichever part of the Army suits them. READ MORE
